History:
Greg is the founder of Greg's VW Service has been exclusively repairing VW's since it's inception
in 1985.
He is not only VW Technician with many years of experience, but also a hard-core VW
enthusiasts. He attends, sponsors, and participates in most VW events in California.
Many of his vehicles have been seen in exclusive VW and other magazines, including the March
2005 edition of Hot VW's (page 86 feature picture of Orange Dragbuggy). He has won awards in
exclusive shows including three first place wins at the prestigeous Grand National Roadster
Show.  
Greg, along with customers and friends have been invited to participate in the huge 4th of July
Parade in Redwood City, CA. Their restored convertibles would carry the VIP's (Mayor and Council
members) along the parade route. He also has participated in the Mountain View parade as a
member of the Bay Area Transporter Association in a long line of Vintage VW Buses.

He is also very active in VW Racing. Greg is co-founder and is an active sponsor of a group of
dedicated motorsports enthusiasts. Together they have formed a race team known as "Bad Dog
Racing". He has built racecars and successfully competed at many venues throughout California
and neighboring states. Since it's inception over 15 years ago, Bad Dog Racing has aquired a
number of Championship titles. The Team's efforts have brought it to the forefront in many
catagories of motorsports. They are highly visible at each event. The Drivers and Crew are well
groomed and have a very professional appearance. The team is always looking sharp as well as
being fast. Tools and pit equipment are in good order and well maintained. Crew members are
friendly and knowledgeable. Other competitors often look to them for help and information.
Whether it be to borrow tools, parts, or manpower they assist in any capacity. The group is envied
and respected among their peers.
Bad Dog Racing Drivers have quickly risen to the top ranks of the NASA Pro-VW Drag Racing
Series. In 1999 Greg won the prestigeous Rookie of the Year title. The year 2000 proved to be
highly successful with wins in five out of six races. The 2001 year brought a second "Rookie of
the Year" title, along with many top 5 finishes. In 2002 Greg captured His first Championship in
the NASA Pro-Vw Drag Racing Series. 2003 was a memorable year for BDR as Greg's wife Lynn
"BlondeDog" Urrutia finished in the Runner-up position in the NASA Series. Her achievement has
historic significance for she is the first woman to finish in the top 3. His Cousin Rick DeLeon
made a strong run at the 2004 Championship and finished in the Runner-up position. The year
2005 and beyond promise to be exciting and victorious as the team continues to be perennial
championship contenders. The teams success strives from a brilliant aptitude for racing, expert
technical abilities, and strong support from family, friends, and first-class sponsors.  
He comments, "Whenever possible we communicate our efforts and adventures to the local
Media. Members of our team have appeared on network and cable television. Our Racecars have
been seen on Prime Time news highlights (ABC KXTV-10). Driver profiles have been the focus of
Spotlight interviews (TNN Motor Madness). Speedvision has captured images of the Bad Dog
Racing Team dominating "The Battle of the Imports", held at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield.
We can also be seen in various DVD's including X-treme VW's and many of the Ocean Street
Video series.
In Janauary 2005, Greg was appointed as the new Race Director of the NASA VW Drag Racing
Series.
